Karachi : Sindh governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan said on Monday that the cases of those persons who are languishing in jails there despite completing the sentence or whose cases are still pending should be settled on humanitarian grounds.
He was talking to a delegation of Pak-India Judicial Commission that called on him at the governor’s house here. Governor said there must be continuous exchange of information between the two countries about the prisoners and added that there should not be any deadlock on this issue. “We would welcome if the India releases rest of 32 Pakistani prisoners as promised by it,” he said. Accepting the invitation of Indian visit by the delegation, Ibad said if the Pakistani prisoners are released, he would also receive them on the occasion of his visit.
