Sovereignty of country put at stake by rulers; committee should be set up to investigate sending of memo to Mullen by Haqqani: Nawaz Sharif

President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that the incumbent rulers have put the national security and sovereignty at stake.

Talking to media in Lahore on Friday, he said that the memo written by Pakistani Ambassador to United States Hussain Haqqani to Admiral Mike Mullen on the recommendations of President Asif Ali Zardari should not be ignored and a committee comprised of parliament members, judges, senior lawyers and important personalities should be constituted for probe into the matter.
Meanwhile, Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal and other senior leaders of PML-N also were present on the occasion.
He said that the statement of Khawaja Asif regarding the resignation of PML-N from assemblies is his personal opinion, adding that PML-N would consult everyone before taking decision regarding resignations.
He said that its his will that shah Mehmood Qureshi should join PML-N and he will held a meeting with Qureshi on 22nd November, adding that establishment is responsible for all the crises created in the country and the secrete hands started Kargil war secretly.
He said that the Abbotabad incident was the attack on the sovereignty of Pakistan but the commission formed on the Abbotabad incident cannot present facts before the public after six months that why and how the incident had occurred.
He said that general (retd) Nadeem declared it as normal incident but the commission had not taken any action over it, adding that every body knows very well about the workings of commissions. It is the fact of history that the commissions had been formed to throw the important matters in garbage.
He said that the commission in the secret memo probe should be bound to present its report in 10 to 15 days, adding that Mike Mullen confirmed the receiving of the secret memo then what more proof are needed.
Nawaz said that if the government would not constitute committee to investigate the matter than there is something wrong in the matter; meanwhile replying a question regarding the statement of Khawaja Asif to quit from assemblies Nawaz said that Khawaja Asif present here and the statement is his personal thinking, adding that the this matter has been discussed in the party meetings and whichever decision would be taken it would be taken after the consultation of whole party.
Replying a question regarding matter of Aysha Ahad Malik, Nawaz Sharif said that the PML-N is only political party which has the self accountability system, adding that Haji Pervez Khan was asked to resign after founding him guilty, adding that the party do takes notice of such matters and investigations are also held.
Replying a question regarding the possible joining of PML-N by Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Nawaz said that meetings with Qureshi had been held and he intended to join PML-N and it is my desire that Qureshi might join PML-N.
He said that the meeting with Qureshi would be held on 22nd of this month and negotiations would be restarted from where these were left.
He said that the PML-N has sworn that it would not support any unconstitutional action sponsored by establishment, adding that the present condition of the country is the result of the unconstitutional steps of the establishment as they broken the courts, parliament and started Kargil war and surrendered before US after 9/11, adding that all should learn lesson from past experiences and establishment should also avoid playing such kind of game.
Replying a question regarding Imran Khan, Nawaz said that the youth of the country is wise enough and they are aware about the past of Imran, adding that the youth is also about PML-N what is has done to solve the problems of the country.
He said that if PML-N had to continue serving masses than following the program 2010 the country would have been more progressive than Korea and Malaysia.
He said that I am proud of Supreme Court, which would not give any verdict upon the will of the agencies, adding that the SC is delivering verdicts according to constitution, adding that I am also proud of that fact that we had played vital role to restore the Supreme Court.
Replying a question regarding showing of cards, Nawaz said that the cards are with those people who play cards and after taking money joins politics. SANA
