Khurshid urges chairman defence committee to call Haqqani, Ejaz

Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan parliamentary leader in senate, Senator Prof. Khurshid Ahmad has written letter to the Gen (R)Javed Ashraf Qazi Chairman Standing Committee of the senate on Defence and Defence production.

Professor Khurshid Ahmad said in his letter, that “You must have seen the material published in the press in relation to the Memo which was sent to Admiral Mike Mullen by Mr. Mansoor Ejaz on the initiative of Mr. Hussain Haqqani, the Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US.
The contents of the Memo make it very clear that what was at stake is Pakistan’s security, sovereignty and vital national interest.
Defence and intelligence forces of Pakistan seem to be the real target.”
Professor Khurshid has warned that this has very far-reaching consequences for the defence and security of Pakistan.
He demanded chairman to immediately call the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Senate on Defence and Defence Production to discuss this issue and invite the Defence Secretary, the ISI Chief, the Pakistan Ambassador Hussain Haqqani and Mansoor Ejaz, the key figure in this episode.
Professor Khurshid proposed that all those summoned should give their evidence in the Committee in person, and if anyone is unable to attend the meeting, to provide the Committee all the documentary evidence relating to the matter. SANA
