FIA could investigate from president on Manssor Ijaz memo issue: Aitzaz

Senior PPP leader and former president Supreme Court Bar Association Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan has said that President Asif Ali Zardari is bound to follow the constitution of the country and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) could investigate from him regarding the memo of Mansoor Ijaz sent to admiral (retd) Mike Mullen.

He said that due to the constitutional indemnity case could not be run against him in court of law, adding that the circumstances has become worse after the departure of Zulfiqar Mirza to London.
Talking to media persons outside the Supreme Court on Friday he said that the general elections could be held immediately after the Senate election in next march.
Aitzaz Ahsan said that PML-N would not resign from the National Assembly seats because this would be wasteful, adding that there is no threat to the democratic set up but it should be kept in mind that the democracy is a weak tree.
He said that if any task was given to him to save the democracy he would fulfill the task, adding that Imran Khan, Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari are the popular leaders of the country, adding that the news of good journey of Imran is good for the democracy.
He said that the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in a meeting with the defence university delegation clarified that unconstitutional act would not be protected, adding that this is a clear message for the undemocratic forces of the country.
He said that the president could reelect himself from the sitting assembles, adding that the matter of civilian president is different from a dictator. SANA
