Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said no unconstitutional change
will occur in the country before 2013 and the opposition should
demonstrate maturity and not indulge in blame game. He said dubbing any
issue as a threat to the national security and sovereignty will not
serve the purpose and is against the national interest.
He said that the government has taken notice of the reports that a
memo has been written to the US authorities by the US Pakistan
Ambassador to the United States Hussain Haqqani.
Responding to the concerns of the PML (N) members on the issue in the National Assembly on Friday, the Prime Minister said the ambassador has already been summoned to Islamabad who will be explaining his point of view to the leadership of the country.
He said this issue should has already been discussed between him and the Leader of the Opposition and time of Parliament should no more be wasted on it.
He said that the PPP government has always defended the national institutions and will continue to do so in future as well. ISI is our institution and we are protecting it according to the constitution. He assured that all the matters will be resolved in consensus and consultation with the opposition.
