People who destroyed peace of Swat to be punished according to law: CJ

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said the courts will be set up at jails against those who had disturbed peace in Swat, adding that people who destroyed the peace of Swat would be punished according to law.

This Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said while addressing the judges hailing from Malakand Division at Darul Qaza in city area of Fizagat on Saturday; meanwhile the Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Dost Muhammad Khan also attended the ceremony.
He said the number of Anti-Terrorism Courts (ATCs) will ramped up, adding a handful elements tried to impose their will on the people of the city. The enemies of Swat and Pakistan deserve no mercy at all, he added.
The Constitution of Pakistan guarantees the free judiciary in the country, the CJ asserted.
He said that heavy responsibility lies on the judges of anti-terrorist courts in Malakand Division, adding that the judges should decide the cases immediately according with constitution and law.
The CJ said judiciary is independent and public confidence is in completely restored in the country due to the sacrifices rendered by lawyers, adding that the establishment of Darul Qaza in Swat is a historical step and it has been established according to 18th amendment.
Addressing the lawyers on the occasion, he said that they work hard in their profession and contact him if they face any problem.
Earlier, a special contingent of police presented the CJ with guard of honor as he arrived at Darul Qaza.  SANA
