Pakistan has lodged a strong formal protest with the United States over the unprovoked helicopter shelling by NATO forces on a check post in Salala in Momand Agency.
Spokesperson of the Foreign Office Tehmeena Janjuar said in an interview in Islamabad that a strong protest was lodged with the US State Office in Washington. She said the situation is being reviewed.
Meanwhile the death toll in the attack has risen to 28 including two officers, while fifteen others have been injured.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has discussed with
the President, the Army chief, Foreign Minister and Foreign Secretary
the situation arising out of NATO attack on Salala Check post in Momand
Agency where twenty five security personnel embraced Shahadat and
fifteen others are injured.
Meanwhile the Prime Minister has cut short his visit to Multan and is
returned Islamabad in the backdrop of attack on Salala Check Post. SANA
