NAWABSHAH: Prime Minister (PM) Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said he has cancelled his visit to UN due to flood affectees.
He
said this while addressing flood affectees during his visit to relief
camp set up by Air Force and later talking to media here on Saturday.
He
held food items and medicines would be provided to affectees in camps.
“We are thinking of providing relief assistance to people at their door
steps”, he added.
Flood is a natural calamity and people should
not worry about it, he underlined. “I have become prime minister due to
people and I have cancelled my visit to UN due to people”, he
maintained.
Responding to a question he said opposition could make only demands and we are in government and it is our job to fulfil them.
When
PM arrived at airport here the concerned quarters gave him briefing
about the losses caused due to floods and relief aid being provided to
them.
