ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission has drawn the attention of the
Members of the Parliament and provincial Assemblies to submit to the
Election Commission by September 30, 2011, yearly statements of assets
and liabilities of their own, their spouse and dependents.
According
to press release issued here on Saturday, this is a mandatory
requirement under Section 42A of the Representation of People Act, 1976
and Section 25A of the Senate (Election) Act, 1975. Members of the
Senate, National Assembly and provincial Assemblies of the Punjab,
Sindh, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and Balochistan are, therefore, required to
submit to the Election Commission Secretariat yearly Statements of
Assets and Liabilities of their own, their Spouse and dependents by
this date.
The prescribed Forms are available, free of cost,
from the Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad and offices of
Provincial Election Commissioners in each province. Forms have already
been sent to the Senate Secretariat, National Assembly Secretariat and
Secretaries of all the four Provincial Assemblies for facility of
