Govt not to call army in Karachi

A high level meeting chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari has decided not to call army in the violence hit economic hub of the country Karachi.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wasan, Senior Minister Zulfiqar Mirza and other federal ministers of the province are attended the meeting.
The meeting also rectified the accord with the MQM for rejoining the government; meanwhile president Zardari directed the provincial government to overcome its shortcomings.
President also directed close contacts between all the intelligence agencies; meanwhile it was said in the meeting that the calling of army is the last option to solve the issue, adding that the political government has the capacity to overcome the situation.
The meeting said that the matter would be solved politically and administratively; meanwhile the meeting decided that indiscriminate action would be taken in Karachi against the miscreants.
It was also decided in the meeting that the system of exchange of information among the secret institutions would be further strengthened and time action would be taken on the secret information.
The meeting also condemned the attack on Jamrud mosque in which at least 50 people were killed on Friday. SANA
