Crackdown against wheelies; 5 arrested

RAWALPINDI: City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi, has arrested five one-wheelers and impounded several motorcycles including other vehicles under charges of incomplete documents and over-speeding, said traffic police.

CTP sources said that the traffic wardens took strict action against the 1-Wheelers under the instructions of Senior Traffic Officer, Syed Ishtiaq Hussain Shah. Police has started crack down against the hooligans who drive motorbikes speedily and dangerously, said Syed Ishtiaq Hussain Shah.
However, during the continuing operation in the month of July, police has arrested at least 5 one-wheelers and lodged cases against them under criminal code and sent them in Cantt Police Station.
While action has also been taken against the under age drivers, those who do not have driving licenses and incomplete driving documents.
In this regard no recommendations and bribery would be accepted to give any favor to the traffic violators, said Senior Traffic Officer.
He appealed to the locals, civil society members, parents and children to follow the traffic rules and regulations as good citizen, it will also save precious lives from road incidents. Online
