22 dead in fresh Karachi violence

KARACHI: The fresh spate of violence and target killing in Karachi has claimed 22 more lives since yesterday, including nine deaths have been reported on Sunday.

According to details, west and east zones of the city are highly volatile including Orangi Town, Liyari, Landhi and Gulistan-e-Jauhar.
In Surjani Town’s Sector 7 firing by unidentified armed men on a pick up claimed two lives including 40 years Badshah Rehman and 20 years Sajaad, while an other person was shot dead in the same locality. Armed men also engaged in a clash for several hours claiming two lives in Khuda ki Basti area.
Police and hospital sources told that the total number of deaths have been reached up to 5 in Surjani Town.
One person was gunned down early morning in Orangi Town while another tortured body was found from Sector 13 of Orangi. While in Boukhari Colony Sector 14 of Orangi Town, unknown armed men killed a 25 years old Zarmai Khan. While the dead bodies were sent to Qatar Hospital for autopsy.
In an area of Urdu Bazaar, police found a dead body, the deceased was transferred to Civil Hospital for postmortem. A joint Police and Rangers search operation in Landhi has ended. DIG West, Naeem Akram Bharoka says no arrests were made during the three hours of door to door search operation. However, a large quantity of used bullets were recovered from a water tank.
Earlier, 13 people including a police official were gunned down in various incidents of target killing in Karachi yesterday and 104 deaths have been reported in last 10 days. Online
