Land for 100 cricket grounds handed over to Punjab govt: Hanif Abbasi

RAWALPINDI: Chairman Sasti Roti Authority Punjab Muhammad Hanif Abbasi MNA has said that Punjab Government has handed over land for more than 100 cricket grounds in the province to PCB for improving sports facilities and building such grounds in accordance with international standards.

He said that facilities of football, cricket, hockey and other sports were also being increased and improved in Rawalpindi as games and sports play a vital role in building the personality of youth and providing them positive recreational facilities. He said that football is also popular game in our country like hockey and cricket and a majority of youth play this game and similarly there was a large number of people who love to watch football matches.
He expressed these views while addressing as chief guest on the occasion of final match of “Lala Yameen, Touseef and Talha Memorial Football Tournament” held in Municipal Sports Stadium Rawalpindi. International football goalkeeper Khursheed Khan Khatmandu, Chairman District football Association Rawalpindi Raja Ishtiaq Ahmed, Secretary Nasir Kiani, former Nazam Arshad Farooq, Chacha Saeed Ahmed, PML (N) workers, and large number of football fans were present on this occasion.
Chairman Sasti Roti Authority said that Pakistan was facing difficulties due to terrorism, but on account of commitment and courage of the nation, the revolution for development and prosperity would be brought in this country. He added that promotion of education is the only concrete and peaceful way to bring revolution as education may help in improving the economic and social development sectors. Muhammd Hanif Abbasi
MNA further said that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has laid foundation for development and prosperity by adopting policies and taking tremendous initiatives for improvement of education and other socio-economic sectors. While lauding the standard of the game in the final match of the tournament played between winner United Club and runner up Young men Football Club, he said that the spirit of competition helps in progressing and improving oneself individually and as a team collectively. He disclosed that five play grounds would also be got constructed in NA-56, while by getting built changing rooms for players of international standard in Municipal Sports Stadium Rawalpindi, all possible facilities for the sportsmen would be ensured. Muhammad Hanif Abbasi MNA, on this occasion, distributed prizes among the players besides giving away trophy of the final match to the captain of the winning team. Online
