Irregularities pointed out in construction of high security block in FO

Severe irregularities pointed out in the annual audit of foreign office regarding the construction of security block in foreign office.

More than 0.5 million dollar corruption revealed in the audit regarding the traveling of unidentified persons from different embassies of Pakistan.
According to the audit report due to delay in construction of security blocks the construction company is bound to pay 20 million rupees according to agreement with the construction company but the foreign office failed to collect this money.
A tender of 230 million rupees was give to the construction company for the construction of security blocks and the company was bound to complete the construction up to march 2007 but the company was failed to complete the construction in given time frame.
The contract had extended up to September 30 September 2007 for the completion of construction but the company was failed in its second time frame.
According to the agreement due to delay in construction work the company is bound to pay 10 percent of its tender money but the money was not recovered by the foreign office yet.
Departmental accounts committee directed the foreign office in December 2010 to receive 23.44 million from the contractor of construction committee in one month but no progress was shown by the foreign office.
PAC has been asked to issue directions regarding the recovery of the money.
According to the audit report 0.6 million of expenditures were not collected from the construction committee regarding the bills of water and electricity.
The audit report also pointed out that 140.5 million rupees were paid to the construction company without any entry in the measurement book of Construction Company.
The DAC had directed NESPAK for the measurement of construction work in two months; meanwhile PAC has also been asked to issue instruction regarding the matter.
The auditor general has directed to point out the people involved in corruption of 0.5 million dollars traveling bills and daily allowances in embassies.
The 2010-11 audit report of foreign office pointed out irregularities of billions of rupees and a number of audit paras have been given in the audit report. SANA
