Amin Fahim rules out military operation in Karachi

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim has ruled out military solution to the Karachi problems and urged all the political parties to sit together and deliberate on the poor law and order situation in the Metropolitan.

Talking to media at the airport, Sunday, Makhdoom Amin Fahim said return of the Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan was a positive step. To a question, he said, “MQM was an independent party and whichever decision it made would be acceptable to the Pakistan People’s Party. He asked the media to take notice of the tone of other political leaders besides focusing their cameras and mikes on Zulfikar Mirza, ex-Home Minister of Sindh.
To a query, he said release of sugar quota to Punjab would not be decided by the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) but by the Federal Cabinet.
About availability of sugar in market during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak, he said it was Economic Coordination Committee (ECC)’s job to ensure the availability of commodity in the markets during Ramazan. Online
