Peace in Afghanistan cannot ascertain without Pakistan: German Parliamentarian

KARACHI: Rainer Arnold – the German Parliamentarian has said Pakistan holds an important position in strengthening the region and peace in Afghanistan could not be established without its assistance.

Speaking a press conference here on Sunday along with other members of the delegation, he said Germany is endeavoring to maintain peace in the region, which is the part and parcel of peace talks, commenced on 10 December last year. The peace talks are led by Afghan President Hamid Karzai. The four member delegation comprising the parliamentarians forms Social Democratic Party, which in Pakistan on fact finding mission.
“Without maintaining peace in Afghanistan, peace could not be established in the world and for this purpose the support of Pakistan is extremely imperative. German nation is desirous for peace in both countries keeping in view the series of incidents that occurred here”, he added. He said that the civil society of Pakistan is very talented and Germany is ready to develop it.
Another member of the German Parliament Karin Evers said that the women of Pakistan are very brave and they can play important role in the development of the country. She said that for the peace in Afghanistan first of all the problems of Pakistan should be resolved. It is up to international community can help the country in this regard as it is up to Pakistan that how long she could go forward for the peace in Afghanistan. Online
