ISLAMABAD: BBC has reported that Pakistani security authorities were
penalizing elements responsible for divulging ‘whereabouts of Osama Bin
Laden (OBL) in Abbottabad’ to US authorities, and abetting USA’s
incursion in Abbottabad.
The British media source also informs
that, however no action has been / would not be carried out against
highly placed internal security authorities, posted in Abbottabad,
where OBL has been alleged to have been hiding for past five years.
In
a similar vein, no departmental action been had either been taken
against elements responsible for air defense of the National air
limits; while the only action taken against the sole security rank has
been that of incharge officer of Nausherwan Thana, which had ‘OBL’s
compound’ within its jurisdiction.
The media source opined that
continued functioning/appointments of relevant ISI colonel, deputy
director IB (intelligence Bureau) and DSP of special branch of
Abbottabad, proved that no official action had been initiated against
anyone had been carried out, so far.
BBC has also claimed that
‘intelligence sources had informed’ that investigations against both
security/land and air defense departments had been almost completed,
but heads of Armed Forces were keeping the proceedings blanketed. Online
