Statement of one more witness recorded in Taseer killing case

RAWALPINDI : An Ant-Terrorist Court No -02 Rawalpindi Judge Raja Ikhlaq Ahmed on Saturday after recording the statement of one witness in governor Punjab Salman Taseer murder case adjourned the hearing of the case till the 14th of next month.

The court also issued notices to the prosecution side to present more witnesses during the next hearing of the case.

During the proceedings of the case, which were held in the Adyala Jail, Magistrate Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who had recorded the confession statement of nominated accused Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri in Salman Taseer killing, was of the view that Mumtaz Qadri had confessed that he himself killed Taseer.

After the hearing of Saturday the 11 witnesses out of 40 have recorded their statements in Taseer killing case.

It is worth mentioning here that governor Punjab Salamn Taseer was killed by his own security guard Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri in Islamabad on 4th of January at the Kohsar Market when Taseer was coming out of a restaurant after taking lunch.

Police had registered FIR of the case in Kohsar Police Station and had nominated 40 witnesses in the Challan of the case. SANA
