ISLAMABAD: Close associate of former President Pervez Musharraf and former DG
ISI Lt Gen Nadeem Taj has retired from Pakistan army.
According to defense sources, Lt Gen Nadeem Taj was a trusted and close
associate of former President Pervez Musharraf. During his tenure Nadeem Taj
held key posts such as DG ISI, DG MI and other posts.
He was also once considered a strong candidate for Army Chief but due to not
getting support of the army the idea was dropped. After the assumption of post
of Army Chief by Gen Ashfaq Pervez Kayani he was removed from the post of DG ISI
and appointed as Corps Commander Gujranwala and was later made Adjutant
