Increase in POL prices due to international price hike: PM Yusuf Raza Gilani

LAHORE : Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that the increase in the petroleum prices was made by following the international market, adding that the POL prices in London has also reached very high.
He said that the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) fixes the power prices in the country the government has nothing to do with this issue.

This Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said while talking to media persons after offering condolences with Miian Aamir Mahmood, former Lahore District Nazim, over his mother’s death.
He said that the PML-N itself ended the alliance with the PPP, adding that the MQM is the allied partner of the PPP and Maulana Fazalur Rehman is also not against the PPP.
He said that MQM could join federal government whenever it likes, adding that the MQM is partner in Sindh government and governor Sindh is also from MQM.
He said that the political alliances are in interest of the country, adding that after the alliance with the PML-Q the government would be stabilized and it could work in a better way for the benefit of the masses.
He said that the party of Maulana Fazalur Rehman is the coalition partner of PPP in Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan governments, adding that the track record of PPP regarding the alliances is not very bad.
Premier Gilani said that the government would not do any unconstitutional step, adding that every thing would be done by following the constitution as Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had given the constitution to the country and the present government restored the constitution in its original form and the government would review the matter of establishment of deputy prime minister post according to the constitution.
Replying a question, on the statement of Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, PM Gilani said that IJI was formed against PPP it could not be formed again, adding that if Chaudhry Nisar has some reservations about the role of ISI and when he (Nisar) would talk about these reservations we would try to sort out those reservations.
Answering a question regarding the statement of Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi against Pervez Elahi, PM Gilani said that he could not stop Qureshi from expressing hi viewpoint, adding that I do not mind his statements.
