Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Ashfaq Pervez Kayani Saturday said
Pakistan is a sovereign country and no decision would be taken against country’s
sovereignty.
The Army Chief said this while addressing a ceremony held at General
Headquarter (GHQ) to commemorate Youm-e-Shuhada. The Army Chief said they
believe in one nation, one family and one army and all the decision would be
taken in country’s better interest rather the personal goals or interests.
The Army Chief paid tribute the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the
security and safety of the country.
“I salute our martyrs who gave their lives in fight against the terror, I
also solute our Ghazi soldiers who had been doing great job to serve the nation”
Kayani added.
He said Pakistan is an independent country and would make all its decisions
what is in its interests.
He further said that Pakistan was passing through the most difficult time in
its history and this is high time to stand up and struggle for a progressive and
prosperous country.
He said the nation has to move forward by crossing all the hurdles and
overcoming the hopelessness. He said they want to live with our neighbor
countries peacefully country’s defense is their first priority.
Kayani said that the whole nation is supporting and standing with Pakistan
