Pakistan, Afghanistan agree on installation of bio metric system

ISTANBUL: Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed upon installation of biometric system on borders by the end of this month.

Agreement was reached during the meeting between the interior ministers of the two countries. Interior minister Rehman Malik and Afghan interior minister Bismillah Khan here Wednesday.
The two interior ministers exchanged views on Pak-Afghan border situation and installation of bio metric system on borders. Both the countries would work together to control illegal border crossing and elimination of terrorists.
Rehman Malik said Pakistan wanted peace in Afghanistan. If peace prevails in Afghanistan then all the countries of the region will achieve development.
Turkish interior minister Idrees Naeem Shaheen also met Rehman Malik . It was decided during the meeting that a joint task force would be established. It will look into the matters of Pakistani national who reach Turkey through illegal way and inform Pakistan about agents who are behind the human trafficking so that action could be initiated against them.
Besides initiation of measures for curbing human trafficking both the ministers agreed that Turkey would extend cooperation in imparting training to Pakistani police compatible with the requirements of contemporary age .
Turkish interior minister would soon visit Pakistan at the invitation of Rehman Malik. Interior ministers of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Turkey signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
In keeping with this MOU, the three countries would work together for controlling money laundering and smuggling, elimination of terrorism and sharing of real time information.
