ISLAMABAD: Senate standing committee on law and justice has unanimously approved Criminal Procedure Amendment Bill-201.
Committee met here Wednesday under its chairman Kazim Khan to review Criminal Procedure-2011.
Committee
members raised objection over the amendments proposed in the bill about
arrest of domestic and industrial consumers with or without warrants
who are found involved in stealing gas.
The committee members
proposed amendment with consensus that industrial consumers who are
found involved in stealing gas could be arrested without issuance of
warrants but in case of domestic consumer, it would be mandatory to
issue warrants before arrest.
