ISLAMABAD: National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on
Kashmir-Gilgit Baltistan Affairs discussed pace of developmental works
in Kashmir-Gilgit Baltistan and affairs regarding Atta Abad Lake.
The meeting of National Assembly(NA) Standing Committee was held here on Wednesday.
Acting
Chairman Committee Sufyan Yousaf chaired the meeting. Khurram Jahangir
Wattoo, Chaudhry Asghar Ali, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry and Molvi
Asmatullah participated in the session.
The pace of
developmental works in Kashmir-Gilgit Baltistan and affairs regarding
Atta Abad Lake were reviewed during NA session.
The lake
authorities briefed the committee that government employees could not
participate due to the constitutional complexities.
Intricacies
regarding laws must be removed by the Law Ministry and Interior Ministry
and we must be intimated whether we are eligible to participate in
parliamentary committees’ sessions, they said.
