QUETTA: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that no conspiracy to
destabilize the country would be allowed to succeed adding Balochistan
is the arm of Pakistan and all efforts are being made to ensure peace
in the province adding that talks would be held with only those
militants who have disarmed.
Talking to reporters upon reaching
Quetta Airport on Tuesday Rehman Malik said that a handful of anti state
elements are attempting to destabilize democracy and harm the national
security and we would not allow such nefarious elements to succeed in
their designs.
He said that Balochistan is an arm of Pakistan
and government is utilizing all available resources and taking measures
on priority basis to make Balochistan peaceful/
He said that the
killing of people of Hazara community is regretful and we are doing
everything to trace out the killers behind this heinous crime. He said
the Federal Government was responsible to maintain its writ and the
provincial governments to maintain law and order within their
jurisdiction.
In response to a question he said that the
government had received some messages dispatched from extremist elements
for peace talks and dialogue however dialogue would only start when
they disarm themselves To another question, he said he had written a
letter to Chief Secretary Punjab to detain Ishaq Malik of a banned
organization and arrest his nine associates.
He said now Ishaq Malik had been detained and further action was being taken in this regard.
He
said the government was aware about reported flying of NATO jets over
Pakistani areas bordering Afghanistan and added violation of Pakistani
space was being noted with observation of International Set Procedure.
He
said no one would be allowed to cast an evil eye on Pakistan and
reaction would be given to any action carried out while violating
sovereignty of the country.
Malik said that Afghanistan Militia
damaged Pakistan checkpost on border in Chaman, and said steps were
being taken to enhance surveillance in border areas.
He said
that masses had given mandate to the Pakistan Peoples’ Party to govern
the country and added the PPP-led government would complete its tenure. Online
