Punjab Bank case: Justice Sair Ali refuses to hear bail plea

ISLAMABAD: Justice Sair Ali of Supreme Court (SC) has refused to hear bail application of main accused in Punjab Bank case.

Bail application of Sheikh Afzal was to be heard by a three member bench of SC headed by Justice Tassadaq Hussain Jillani here Tuesday. When the case was assigned to the bench, Justice Sair Ali maintained before hearing that he had heard other matters of this case therefore, he could not hear the bail plea.
The hearing has been adjourned for one week and the case has been sent to Chief Justice of Pakistan.
Sheikh Afzal is considered to be prime culprit in Punjab Bank case and he is accused to have obtained loan through fake way after making Punjab Bank bankrupt. He is alleged to have committed corruption of 9 billion rupees. Online
