ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to proclaim Begum
Nusrat Bhutto as Madar-e-Jamhoriat (Mother of Democracy), says a
statement issued by Prime Minister Office on Monday.
On the
advice of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Acting President has
announced awarding Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Order of Excellence) to Begum Nusrat
Bhutto as a token of appreciation for her outstanding services for the
cause of democracy.

chairperson Benazir Bhutto and widow of former Prime Minister Zulfiqar
Ali Bhutto, died in Dubai on Sunday after prolonged illness.
