Banners, posters damaging beauty of Capital

ISLAMABAD: Banners and posters placed by different organizations to advertise their products at every corner of the federal capital has turned it to a banners city and also damaging its natural beauty while authorities are mum over this situation.

There are a lot of banners which were installed at certain occasions but not removed after that event. Banners are installed on certain events, festivals and donation campaign like sacrificial hides these days. Different sectors used these banners for their advertisement campaign without considering that they are damaging the natural beauty of the city.
Unfortunately it has been seen that after such advertisement campaign these banner and posters were not removed by those companies nor administration gives any attention toward it.
On one side it gives a boom to advertisement companies and those people who are connected with this business while on the other side it severely damages the beauty of the city.
During a survey conducted by this scribe, it was observed that numbers of banners and posters which are installed at different sectors is in hundreds while hoardings are addition to it.
Due to negligence of administration different banned outfits have also placed their posters at the wall of schools, colleges and hospitals and this figure is too large to be counted.
Another unfortunate element is that administration has not fixed any number that how much posters and banners can be installed during any advertisement campaign. This negligence has given free hand to these advertising companies to malign the beauty of the city.
In this regard, CDA spokesman said that civic agency is well aware regarding this issue and several times strict action has been taken against these banners and posters and they were removed from different sectors.
He said that CDA would soon form a strategy to tackle this issue and strict action would be taken against those agencies that place these banners and poster with out the permission of Capital Development Authority. Online
