Wajid Durrani likely to be appointed IB chief

ISLAMABAD: The Inspector General of Sindh Police, Wajid Ali Durrani is most likely to be appointed as new chief of Intelligence Bureau (IB) and a formal announcement will be made within a couple of days.

Well-placed sources told that the sitting Director General of IB Javed Noor will be retiring from service on October 2 following completion of his tenure. He had assumed the responsibility as DG on May 17, 2009.
Sources said clean chit had also been given at high level for induction of Durrani as new IB chief. Earlier he had served as IG Police Islamabad. Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani had appointed him as IG Sindh in the wake of deteriorating situation in Karachi. Online
