“Do more” no more: PM Gilani

Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani Thursday said that United State cannot press Pakistan to do more, adding that the nation is ready to ward off any challenge.

Addressing All-Party Conference (APC), the Prime Minister said in his opening statement that national security is our first priority and entire nation stand united for the country defence.
He said US officials’ allegations were baseless and it was shocking that US leveled accusation against Pakistan in spite of its sacrifices in the war against global terror.
The Prime Minister said sovereignty of Pakistan must be respected adding that the nation has full faith in their security forces.
He said we have to draw a national agenda through APC and doors for negotiations are open for everyone.
Gilani said all parties are committed to be united for national security putting their political differences aside.
APC was held to devise a consensus national strategy to overcome the challenges being faced by the country.
Conference discussed security situation in the country and devise a consensus national strategy to overcome the challenges is to begin shortly at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad.
The Conference was convened by Prime Minister, in which leaders belonging to almost all the political parties taking part. The political leadership of the country has deliberated at length on the whole scenario in the backdrop of recent statements by the US officials. Online
