Army imparts anti-terrorism training to police

RAWALPINDI: Army is imparting extensive anti-terrorism training to police in all the four provinces of the country and AJK and Gilgit Baltistan in line with directions from Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.

The Army has employed its specialist instructors, including Special Services Group (SSG) personnel, for training police. So far 27,855 police personnel have completed their training module and 862 are still under going training.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12,961 recruits and 2274 Elite Force personnel have been trained so far. As many as 8244 personnel have completed their training in Punjab. In Sindh 1177 police personnel have been trained while 373 and 293 personnel have been trained in Balochistan and AJ&K respectively.
It is worth mentioning here that Pakistan Army has played an important role to enhance capacity building of police so as to fight the menace of terrorism. Online
