ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has instructed Rangers and
Police to remain fully alert as the hostile elements might carry out
some abductions of some eminent lawyers and prosecutors.
In a
statement issued here on Sunday from Interior Ministry, the minister
directed the IG Sindh and DG Rangers to keep their forces on
extra-ordinary alert.
According to the statement, the CCPO
Karachi was also instructed to hold a meeting with the Bar Association
in Karachi to discuss the threats with them.
Interior
Ministry’s sources informed that the DG and IG police were also
instructed to ensure security of diplomats in Karachi in view of the
new threats alert against some of them. Online
