NATO should stop illegal movement, infiltration from across Afghan borders forthwith: Army chief

ISLAMABAD: Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani met with NATO ISAF commander in Afghanistan John R Allen and exchanged views on a set of issues including situation arising out of Afghan terrorists attack on Pakistan security forces in Chitral , Pak-Afghan border issues and other matters of mutual situation.

As per US embassy NATO commander during his visit to Pakistan discussed with Army Chief issue of bringing improvement in regional security and he also met with staff members of US embassy. He was also given briefing on the latest situation pertaining to US assistance in the security matters of Pakistan.
Gen Allen also visited 11th corps headquarters in Peshawar to become cognizant of latest situation of activities in Pakistan and to hold talks on security related matters near Pak-Afghan borders. He met senior officials therein.
Military sources told Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani expressed grave concern over attack on Security Forces in Chitral saying NATO should stop illegal movement and infiltration from across Afghan borders immediately. “We hope NATO will take concrete steps to guard against recurrence of such incident in future”, he hoped.
NATO commander assured effective steps would be taken to exercise strict watch on movement of terrorists on Afghan borders in future saying cooperation from Pakistan with NATO has always remained very vital. Online
