Malik issues instructions to tighten security in federal capital

 Interior Minister Rehman Malik has given instructions for tightening of the security in Islamabad especially that of the parliament lodges and MNAs hostel following threats from Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for kidnapping of some VIP.

Talking to newsmen after chairing a meeting in the capital on Friday, he said threats have been received for kidnapping to seek release of family of Osama bin Laden.
To a question he said the situation in Karachi has started improving. Arrests have been made including those of target killers, extortionists and land-grabbers and the action would continue till their elimination.
He said action is being taken in Karachi across the board without consideration to political affiliations of the criminals.
The Minister said people of Lyari are particularly happy after operation as they were previously paying Rs. 75 to 100 extortion money per family. SANA
