ISLAMABAD: Awami National Party Central Vice President Bushra Gohar
Friday said that Pakistan must stop meddling of a foreigner, Altaf
Hussain, in the country’s affairs.
In an exclusive chat with
Online, she said that Altaf Hussain cancelled citizenship of Pakistan
and a resident as well as citizen of UK, therefore, had no right to
spread disturbance and provocation in the country.
Altaf
Hussain in a video conference address to workers and media blamed that
US had paid millions of dollars to ANP for winning the elections in
2008. He said that he had no proof but heard that ANP was funded.
“I
call upon Pakistan Foreign Office to take up the issue with his country
that is the UK. What British would feel if a Pakistani does so and
irritates people in the UK. This is a very serious issue when a
foreigner does this,” she added.
This man (Altaf Hussain)
advises people not to believe in hearsay but he himself blames someone
based on hearsay as he himself has confessed, she said.
She
said, “When it is said that there is a foreign influence and
interference in Pakistan, it is in this way that such influence is
exercised by a foreigner.”
She challenged that anyone who
claims that ANP was funded by a foreign country should file a complaint
with Election Commission of Pakistan, which is a legal procedures.
It
is strange why Pakistani media especially electronic media is giving a
vast coverage to a foreigner, she expressed her surprise.
If he
is interested in the politics of the country, he should quit the UK and
apply for citizenship of Pakistan, Bushra Gohar said. She maintained
that ANP would get votes whenever free and fair elections were held in
Pakistan as it is a political party and always fights for people’s
rights and struggles against dictators and for democracy.
The
party had first democratic government when Pakistan came into being.
“ANP is a hope of people and the region. Many politicians know that the
party is vital for peace with Afghanistan and India and in the region.
This is the party believe in non-violence and have a journey with
masses in history, and therefore popular,” she further said.
The
Central Vice President of the ANP said that her party would have
established its democratic government in all provinces and parts of
Pakistan had dictatorships not derailed democracies repeatedly in the
country. Online
