JI condemns PPP efforts to woo back MQM, slates Malik’s role

The Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Syed Munawar Hasan has condemned the government keenness to woo back the MQM as a coalition partner in spite of the serious allegations leveled against it by senior PPP leader Zulfikar Mirza.

He has counseled the government to refrain from taking the murderers and extortionists and Pakistan’s enemies as government partners giving preference to the national interests.
Talking to delegations at Mansoora on Tuesday, he said that the Interior Minister Rehman Malik’s role had been doubtful from the very first day as he had been serving some foreign powers’ agenda.
He warned that if Rehman Malik was not relieved from his office immediately and an enquiry into the allegations leveled against him by Zulfikar Mirza and Lashkari Raeesani were not held, the enemy would succeed in its nefarious designs.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that Zulfikar Mirza allegations of the MQM’s involvement in foreign conspiracies to breakup this country warranted a serious enquiry and MQM’s trial for treason in case the allegations were proved. However, he said, the PPP leadership on the other hand, was anxious to take back the terrorist organization in the government for the sixth time. He said the rulers had also shut their eyes to Ajmal Pahari’s confessions of his links with the MQM and his terrorist training in India.
He said the patriotic circles were unable to understand what compelled the PPP leadership to have the MQM as coalition partner in spite of its record of crimes and remarked perhaps it was a binding of the notorious NRO.
The JI chief said in reply to a question that Rehman Malik’s role had been dubious from the beginning as he had always spoken for India and the US. Rehman Malik had been trying to hide the real forces behind the Karachi unrest and bloodshed and putting the blame on the Taliban. Rehman Malik had always been acting as defense counsel for the CIA, RAW and Black Water and denying their involvement in terrorism in this country, he added. SANA
