US refutes reports of its personnel escape from Peshawar

ISLAMABAD: US Embassy on Monday refuted media reports concerning U. S. officials “escape” from a Peshawar motorway check point and taking refuge in the U.S. Consulate in Peshawar

US Embassy Spokesman in a statement said reports allege that the U.S. officials tried to crush the police officials in their way. This is entirely false.
The U.S. officials were travelling from Islamabad to Peshawar for official business and had in their possession an approved No Objection Certificate from Pakistan General Headquarters for the trip.
They were not stopped at the checkpoint but were waved on. There was no altercation between U.S. and Pakistani police officials. All Employees of the U.S. Mission to Pakistan follow the laws of Pakistan. Online
