ANP hints at parting ways with govt

Awami National Party Khyaber Pakhtoonkhawa President Senator Afrasayab Khattak has hinted at parting ways with the government, adding that the party would discuss the issue in the meeting going to be held on 28th of this month, adding that the party would also discuss the demand of deployment of army in Karachi.

He said that the today (Tuesday) provincial Jirga would prepare the case of -non-payment of 110 billion rupees profit to the Khyaber Pakhtoonkhawa government- to present in Council of Common Interests.
Talking to media persons at the parliament house here on Monday Afrasayab Khattak said that ANP is demanding purging of Karachi weapons from last two years.
Replying a question regarding the change of Sindh government, he said that the matter would be discussed in the meeting of the consultative committee chaired by party president Asfandyar Wali Khan on 28th of this month.
He said that the committee would also take account of the recommendation of provincial party for parting ways with the PPP lead government in Sindh, adding that indiscriminate action is needed against the terrorists in Karachi.
Replying a question, he said that if there is any terrorist wing of the ANP in Karachi it should exposed, adding that ANP has never stopped to take action against the gang wars.
He said that it is the constitutional responsibility of the state to protect life and property of the masses, adding that the state has failed to perform its duty.
Afrasayab Khattak said that the option of calling army could not be ruled out, adding that all administrative and constitutional steps could be taken for the improvement of the law and order in Karachi.
He said that there is no policy regarding the rangers’ in Karachi, adding that is the demand of the ANP to use every option for the improvement of law and order situation in Karachi.
He said that the Jirga of all political parties regarding the payment of profit of electricity would be discussed today (Tuesday) in Peshawar, which would be chaired by Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti, adding that the recommendations of the jirga would be presented in the meeting of the Council of Common Interests going to be held on 25th of this month.
