Quetta shuts down to mark 5th death anniversary of Nawab Akbar Bugti

QUETTA: The Fifth death anniversary of Nawab Akbar Bugti was observed as a black day in Balochistan on Friday.
A shutter-down strike is being observed in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan on the call of baloch nationalists parties. Tight security arrangements have been and contingents of police,
Balochistan Constabulary, Frontier Core and Anti Terrorist Force deployed in the city.
A complete shutter-down strike is also being observed in other areas of the province, including Mastung, Qalat, Pisni and Khuzdar.
Nawab Akbar Bugti was killed on August 26, 2006 in a military operation during the regime of former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf.
Talal Bugti, son of Akbar Bugti, had filed a petition against former president Pervez Musharraf in Akbar Bugti’s murder case. Earlier, the federal government had sought five documents, including copies of the FIR and arrest warrants of the accused from the provincial government for extradition of the accused nominated in the murder case.
