The meeting of Parliamentary Committee on judges appointment has been summoned on 22nd August regarding the regularization of seven judges of Peshawar High Court and Lahore High Court.
The parliamentary committee would review the recommendations of
Judicial Commission for the regularization of seven Additional Judges
of Lahore and Peshawar High Courts.
The commission recommended regularization of Justice Sagheer Ahmed
Qadri, Justice Khwaja Imtiaz and Justice Qasim Khan from the Lahore
High Court and Justice Fatahuddin, Justice Mazhar Alam, Justice
Ataullah and Justice Shafi Ahmed of Peshawar High Court.
The Chief Justices of respective high courts, Federal Minister of
Law Maula Bakhsh Chandio, Provincial Law Ministers, Attorney General
Molvi Anwarul Haq and representatives of the bar councils attended the
meeting.
It is worth mentioning here that parliamentary committee has the
authority to regularize the judges and the parliamentary committee
received the recommendations of the judicial commission and called the
meeting on 22nd August. SANA
