Involvement of Pak rulers in AJK elections not right: Asma Jehangir

President Pakistan Supreme Court Bar Association Asima Jehangir has said that we are incomplete without Kashmiri people. The involvement of Pakistani rulers in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir election is not fair.

This she said while addressing the District Bar at Mirpur, adding that the authority to appoint the chairman of supreme council should be with the president instead of prime minister, adding that the government should not make clashes with the judiciary and respect the decisions of judiciary.
She said that we are well aware about the problems of Kashmiri community and fully informed with the political situation of AJK.
She said that she raised the issue of independence of Kashmir in her visit to India, adding that the Indian president confessed before us that the human rights violations were being committed in Kashmir.
She said that the election rigging in AJK would kill the democracy, adding that we cannot accept the Ad-hoc appointments of judges, adding that either they should make permanent or terminated.
She said that if the judges’ cannot meet justice then how they provide justice to a common man, adding that if the bar association would be independent then it works for the independence of judiciary. She thanked the bar council members for inviting her to Mirpur. SANA
