Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that the ordinance recently promulgated for FATA and PATA will be amended in consultation with the representatives of the area.
Responding to a point of order raised by Munir Khan Orakzai the
Prime Minister said the ordinance was promulgated to bring to justice
the elements involved in acts of terrorism in the tribal areas.
He said he has also invited the FATA members to get their suggestions on the promulgated ordinance.
He said the government will also introduce Political Parties Act while taking on board the FATA members.
The Prime Minister said the people of FATA have rendered great
sacrifices for creation and defence of the country and we greatly value
their contributions.
Earlier the members belonging to FATA staged a token walk out over
the promulgation of the ordinance without taking them on board. SANA
