NA members urge govt to address root causes of trouble in Karachi, Quetta to restore normalcy

The National Assembly resumed discussion on the overall law and order situation in the country particularly in Karachi and Quetta here on Wednesday.

Earlier, the House suspended other business to continue discussion on the law and order situation. The motion in this regard was moved by Zahid Hamid.
Taking part in the debate, the members urged the government to address the root causes of trouble in Karachi and Quetta in order to restore normalcy there.
They said that patronage of criminal elements must come to an end and those involved in the incidents of target killings and kidnapping in Karachi must be exposed and brought to justice.
They said the prevailing situation in Karachi is part of a greater conspiracy to destabilize Pakistan and there is a dire need to stand united at this critical juncture to foil nefarious designs of anti-State elements.
Those who have taken part in the discussion so far include Syed Asif Hasnain and Sher Muhammad Baloch.
Taking part in the debate, Minister for Railways Ghulam Ahmad Bilour said all the political parties should initiate a consultative process to find a political solution to the prevailing situation in Karachi.
He said Karachi is a mini Pakistan and the hub of economic activities and there is a need to promote environment of harmony and cohesion.
The Federal Minister said the government has decided to restore the Magistracy system in Karachi, which will also help control the law and order situation. SANA
