Punjab PAC regrets non-appointment of vice chancellors in 6 varsities

ISLAMABAD, July 13 (Online): Public Accounts Committee-1 (PAC) has regretted delay in the appointment of vice chancellors in six universities of the province.

The PAC body had met to discuss audit paras related to Higher Education Department (HED).
Chairman Chaudhry Zahir ud Din presided over the meeting. Committee regretted over non appointment of treasurer and vice chancellors in 6 universities.
PAC constituted sub committees over several audit paras and directed secretary higher education to conduct inquiry on some paras and fix responsibility.
Complaints about non existing of laws on transparent utilisation of funds in some independent universities also came up for discussion.
Audit department declared utilization of Rs 2964 million illegal through its paras. Higher Education figures atop the list of departments in terms of audit paras, irregular use of funds and violation of rules and regulations. Online
