ISLAMABAD: The power shortfall reached 722 megawatts due to shortage
of oil, gas and water which increased the power outages in most part of
the country.
According to PEPCO authorities, the current
electricity demand is 18338 megawatts while production remains at 12616
megawatts. On the other hand, unannounced gas loadshedding continues
despite the provision of 160 million square feet gas by the Sui
Southern Gas Company.
Meanwhile, electric supply could not be resumed in some areas which were affected in during the firing incidents.
According
to PESCO spokesman, 8 to 9 hours loadshedding continues in Peshawar and
9 to 10 hours loadshedding is being done in the rural areas, whereas,
situation is worse than that.
