Jamaat-e-Islami and Pakistan People’s Party agreed to continue political contacts and support each other in matters of common man.
On Wednesday Jamaat-e-Islami delegation met with Governor Punjab
Sardar Latif Khan Khosa at Governor House and discussed the overall
situation of the country.
Both the parties agreed to form a working group for contacts;
meanwhile the governor Punjab sought the JI help for brining peace in
Karachi.
The JI delegation include former national assembly member Hafiz
Salman Butt, former MPA Chaudhry Shokat Ali, Jehangir Babar and Sheikh
Azhar Mahmood.
Meanwhile, Governor Punjab was assisted by former province minister Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna during the meeting.
According to sources, it was decided in the meeting that the two
parties would continue the political contacts in current political
situation of the country and should help each other to solve national
issues.
After the meeting briefing the media persons in Okara, JI Political
Committee Divisional Coordinator, Sheikh Azhar Mahmood said that
Governor Punjab Latif Khosa has sought JI support for the improvement
of the law and order situation in Karachi, adding that it was also said
during the meeting that JI and PPP would form a joint working group
which would consider the matter of seat adjustment between the two
parties in the wake of the upcoming elections in Punjab and would
prepare its suggestions.
He said that meetings of PPP and JI would be continued in future also. SANA
