ISLAMABAD: The prices of high-octane and light diesel will be raised
from August 1, while prices of three other petroleum items will remain
same, as government will provide cross subsidy of Rs. 90 million.
According
to a Private TV channel, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had
prepared a summary and given proposal to increase prices of petroleum
items. However, Federal Minister for Petroleum Dr. Asim Hussain played
a pivotal role to maintain the prices of three items and announced to
provide subsidy in this regard.
Private TV sources further
elucidated that the price of high-octane will be raised Rs 5.34/ liter
and light diesel Rs 2.13/ liter from 1st August. While the prices of
petrol, high-speed diesel and kerosene oil will remain same. Under the
subsidy of Rs. 90 million, the prices of petrol and Kerosene oil will
bring down by Rs 1.9 and Rs 1.7 respectively. Online
