KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari has welcomed Altaf Hussein’s
initiative of directing Ishrat-ul-Abad to resume his charge as Governor
Sindh declaring it as important for National and Provincial solidarity,
harmony and reconciliation.
President Asif Ali Zardari, who
chaired a special consensus meeting of his party to chalk out
strategies for removing reservations of warring elements of PPPP and
MQM, declared that PPPP strictly believed in reconciliatory politics.
The
PPPP co-chairman also declared that his party had no aggressive and
evil designs over democracy, in which reconciliation was always on. “As
such it was our best endeavors that reservations of MQM should be
addressed, and they should be taken back in government’s folds”, he
stated: adding that resumption of Governorship by Ishrat-al-Abad was a
visible proof of success of PPPP’s reconciliation and dialogue policy.
He
said that PPPP would continue its policy pf consensus with its
coalition partners, hoping that they would all revert back to previous
coalition folds. He also said that politics and democracy entailed
difference of opinion , and all options remained functional, while he
also hoped of joint efforts by all polity to ensure peace and harmony
in Karachi. Online
