Cricket: PCB chief Ijaz Butt to meet ICC officials at Lord’s

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ijaz Butt is expected to meet top International Cricket Council (ICC) and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) officials on the sidelines of the India-England Test match at Lord's, which starts on Thursday.

According to the Daily Times, the details of a proposed visit of the ICC Pakistan Task Team (PTT) to Pakistan are expected to be finalized during the meeting.

Butt is likely to meet ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat and ECB chairman Giles Clarke, who also heads the PTT.

"All three of them will be part of ICC's celebrations being planned in connection with the 2,000th Test," a source added.

The PCB and the ICC are at loggerheads following a comprehensive report filed by PTT that included 63 recommendations to uplift cricket in Pakistan.

Pakistan rejected most of those recommendations and declared that the PTT report was merely a 'scholarly exercise' and asked for more 'Pakistan specific' recommendations.

The PTT was formed to revive international tours of Pakistan, suspended after a terror attack on the Sri Lankan team in 2009, and to strengthen the game in the country which has been battered by allegations of spot-fixing. ANI
