Pak India dialogues to continue despite fresh Mumbai attacks: Parliamentary body

ISLAMABAD: The negotiation process between Pakistan and India will be continued according to schedule inspite of fresh terrorists’ attacks on Mumbai as Pak India ties are going as per routine.

This was told to the meeting of the parliamentary committee, which was held under the chairmanship of Senator Raza Rabbani at parliament house on Monday.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar gave the briefing about Pak-US relations. She said that after the contacts at high level the tension between both countries was reduced.
Parliamentary Committee on National Security has directed Ministry of Foreign Affairs to handle the matter regarding grant of visas to foreigners including US citizens itself under one window operation.
The committee also called for detailed briefing by Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Law over proposed Anti Terrorism Amendment Act and formation of National Counter Terrorism Authority. After this the committee will send its recommendation to prime minister on the issues. After the meeting Mian Raza Rabbani told the media that committee will get briefing on Pak US relations from Ministry of Defence and after knowing their stance, it will prepare its report for submitting to government. He said that Ministry of Foreign Affairs is taking review the war against terrorism in the light of resolutions adopted by the parliament. “We urged foreign office to comply with the resolutions of parliament . They have been asked to watch sovereignty, integrity and basic strategic interests of the country in maintaining ties with USA or any other country of the world”, he added. However Raza Rabbani refused to answered questions regarding Shamsi Air Base and the possibility of US operation without intimating Pakistan again.
